This is a site about my life as a airline dispatcher. Perhaps one of the least-known airline jobs, we have more impact on more passengers than any other person at the airline. While a flight crew may be responsible for 350 passengers, dispatchers will be working up to twenty flights at once.
There are only about 2000 licensed dispatchers actively working in the world, with the United States having laws that require the dispatcher to legally release the flight. This requires an FAA license and training that is similar to what an airline captain learns in the ATP rating.
